Hi there! I'm Megan, owner of Opal & Oak Events. It's so nice to meet you!

I was born and raised in Moncton, New Brunswick and made my cross-country move to Red Deer, Alberta, where I have spent the last 9 years. Here, I met the love of my life, Steven, and we got married in August 2019, on the four year anniversary of our very first date.  Together we have 3 pets, two cats Pickles and Lily, and our dog Oakley (whose name was an inspiration for this business!) I love crafting, coffee, and a good true-crime podcast.

I have always had a creative side, and have always enjoyed planning small events such as birthday parties and baby showers, but it wasn't until I began planning my own wedding that I discovered my passion for the art. I am always happiest when the people around me are enjoying themselves and having a good time, without a care in the world. So, I decided to pursue that passion, and became a Certified Wedding Coordinator, and thus, Opal & Oak Events was born!
